When we first moved in the Master Bathroom was located just inside the back door, a mile from the Master Bedroom. After we created a new Master Bathroom we began the process of transforming the old one into a mud room/laundry room/full bath. The old laundry room was located on the bottom floor and Cindy hated having to constantly go up and down the stairs to monitor the laundry. She wanted it on the main floor near the kitchen. After much deliberation, dreaming and scheming we launched into the project. The same weekend I began demo on the space we had guests in our upstairs Air B&B. The husband just happened to be a contractor who was there tagging along with his wife. She was busy during the day and he was bored. So he basically jumped in and jump started the project for me. It was great! He taught me a few tricks and saved me about two weeks of work. My Dad built the cabinets for me. We painted them white. The door to the bathroom will be on a sliding track and will slide to cover either the bathroom or the stairs. We occasionally have little ones running around so closing off the stairs is helpful. The space is working out great!
